VOLUNTEERING  AT TURNING POINT

The Turning Point Counselling Service is a small charity and we welcome those who wish to volunteer with us. There are a number of ways you can do this, each valuable and each vital to our continued development and effective service delivery.

The Turning Point Counselling Service welcomes applications from individuals who would like to volunteer their time with us.We have a range of  volunteer positions that may be of interest to you.

Board of Trustees and Management Group

The Turning Point Counselling Service is managed by a Management Group supported by a Board of Trustees.  If you would like to offer your time and skills to either the Management Group or Board of Trustees we would welcome a chat with you.    If this is something that is of interest, please contact the Turning Point office on 01484 950 808

Volunteer Counsellors

We provide a range of counselling services to individuals in the Calderdale district. As such we are always interested in offering volunteering opportunities for counsellors and therapists.

We are not in a position to offer payment. We do however, make contributions towards your supervision fees, pay appropriate expenses and provide opportunities to attend relevant training events. In return, we would ask that you are available for a minimum of two counselling sessions per week.

We will consider applications from both qualified counsellors and those who are in training.

If this is something that is of interest, please contact the Turning Point office on 01484 950 808 and ask to speak to our Counselling Coordinator –

Volunteer Sitters

A volunteer sitter at the Turning Point helps us to provide the counselling work we do.

As a sitter your role would be to be the first point of contact for a client who is attending for counselling. For example, you would let the client into the building, show them to the waiting room, offer a refreshment and so on.

The volunteer sitter role is vital to our work here at the Turning Point. Sitters usually are required in non office hours, for example early evenings and Saturday mornings.

If this is something that is of interest, please contact the Turning Point office on 01484 950 808 and ask to speak to our Counselling Coordinators.
